Family:Married in 1977 to Linda Carson who grew up in my father's hometown of Bryson City. Moved to Little Rock, Arkansas for 9 months, came back to Bryson City and went to work for the phone company, retiring from Verizon with 31 1/2 years. We have 3 children, Kelli (1980), Chelsea (1983) and Van (1987). All three are happily married and have blessed us with 10 grandchildren, Trevor, Dylan, Alissa, Savana, Kiersten, Addisyn, Jade, Ty, Tenley and Haven. I also retired from Swain County Rescue Squad, EMT-I and am a deacon at Midway Baptist Church. We love spending time with our family on the lake, babysitting and love watching the grandkids sporting events.
