  • Favorite Books: I enjoy reading history mostly, although I do try novels when I can. A favorite is the late Elmore Leonard. He lived in this area. He got the dialogue in his crime novels perfect.
  • Favorite Movies: That is hard to choose. But whenever I come across "The Magnificant Seven" on one of the countless cable stations, I'm hooked. I have to watch it.
  • Favorite Music: When we're home on a Saturday evening, I have on the Ed Love "Destination Jazz" program on WDET-FM. His tag-line is the "bluesy side of jazz and the jazzy side of blues". Now, you can listen to him online.
  • Hobbies: Detroit Tigers baseball in the Summer, and we hope, in the Fall. NCAA basketball in the Winter, up to March Madness in the Spring.
  • Family: It has been just Jan and me for the last 20 years. Between us we have 2 grand nieces and 2 grand nephews.
  • Before ACR: Haw Creek Junior High, Charles C. Bell Elementary for one year, Inglewood, California elementary schools for the previous 5 years.
  • After ACR: U.S. Army Security Agency for 4 years. I spent 2 years in Japan and 1 year in Korea.  UNC-Asheville after military service. BA degree in Economics.
Moved to Michigan. I've worked in the steel industry doing international trade for over 25 years.
My wife Jan is an administrator in the Troy, MI school district.
We are both active in our church, Kirk in the Hills Presbyterian in Bloomfield Hills, MI
