George Maddox of Sinking Spring, PA, formerly of Atlanta, GA died at the age of 54.
On September 4, 2009, George passed away at St. Barnabus Hospital in Livingston, NJ after sustaining injuries in a plane crash August 21, in Teterboro, NJ.
George was married to Lisa Roach Maddox, also formerly of Atlanta. He was born in Asheville, NC, the son of George W. Maddox, Sr. and Shirley S. (Sparrow) Maddox, of Asheville, NC.
George was a pilot for Quest Diagnostics for 15 years, first in Atlanta, then in Reading, PA for the last 6 years. He graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree.
An accomplished guitarist, George was a member of the Single Action Shooting Society and AOPA. He is also survived by his 7 year old daughter Lily C. Maddox, his father and mother-in-law Dr. and Mrs. Thomas C. Roach of Sinking Spring, PA, and his stepdaughter, Sara K. Byrd of Tuscaloosa, AL.
George Maddox, a beloved husband, son, father, cousin, friend, pilot, music lover and all around wonderful man will be sorely missed by his friends and family.
