Larry Short died in May of 2011. Larry was a loving dad, husband, brother, grandfather, and a beloved friend to so many. He filled every room he entered with cheer, and brought a smile to anyone around him.
He was a commercial airplane pilot for many years, served 4 years in the US Navy, and had an undying passion for music. He was "The Night Ranger", a radio personality on WZLS in the 90's.
Nothing defined "Papa" more than being a grandfather. Surviving are his 2 sons, Casey Short of Archdale, N.C., and Cory Short of Asheville; 3 sisters, Deb, Sherry, and Penny; 3 brothers, Dan, Joe, and Steve; his grandchildren, Avery, Colby, Pacey, Abbi, and Ayla; and his only wife and love of his life, Beverly Bunce Short Thomas.
He was preceded in death by his biological father, Thomas Huff; and his parents John and Cathy Short.
